This plugin makes characters and events in RPG Maker MZ cast dynamic shadows that react to both movement and light sources. Instead of flat, static blobs, shadows stretch, fade, and shift depending on where the light is coming from — giving your maps a much more immersive and polished look.

Characters, followers, and events all get their own automatic shadows. It works with multiple sprite sizes: default RTP, extended RTPX, 100x100 “Low” sprites, and Premium 12x8 sheets.

Shadows glide and fade naturally when characters move or change direction. Global lights, like sunlight from a map corner, push shadows away consistently.

Event lights, like torches or lamps, affect nearby shadows, making them stretch and fade depending on distance.

If no lights are defined, shadows still cast behind the sprite based on its facing direction. Shadows get darker near lights and lighter farther away, with smooth falloff.

Built‑in housekeeping removes shadows for off‑screen events to save resources. Settings let you adjust shadow length, fade speed, blending style, and light radius to fit your game’s mood.
